Coming: one plan, monthly or yearly, no trial

Recolor Pro

Recolor (recolor.page) stays free for everything it does today, with no account. Pro, a paid plan that is not on sale yet, will add what you hand to a client or put into a codebase: Site CSS, a stylesheet that puts the palette on the real site; before-and-after images of a page; and review links for clients. Join the list below for one email when it launches.

What Pro adds

Pro is for the step after choosing a palette, when it has to reach a client or a site.

  • Site CSS. Today Recolor repaints a page inside the app, and the exports give you the palette as code. Site CSS will give you the repaint itself: a stylesheet of overrides that puts the palette on the real site, to link after the site's own stylesheets or paste into a platform's custom CSS field.
  • Before and after. PNG images of the page in its own colors and in the palette, rendered on Recolor's server, for a proposal or a review.
  • Review links. A share page with your note for a client, a password if you set one, and an end date.
  • More room. Unlimited synced palettes and projects once accounts arrive, more page loads a minute than the free 30 on Limits, and new features first.

What stays free

Everything Recolor does today stays free, with no account: generating and editing palettes, the live repaint of any public page or uploaded HTML file, Site colours and its overrides, all 8 export formats, share pages, and 50 saved palettes in your browser. That is what most people need to try a palette on their own site, and it is what gets shared and linked, so it is not going behind a paywall. An account, when it comes, is free too and carries your palettes to other devices; About says how Recolor is built and run.

How Pro will be priced

One plan, with one price a month and one a year, the same for everyone and written as what it costs. There is no trial, because the free plan is the trial; no founding price, no early-bird discount and no countdown. The prices are announced with Pro itself, in the one email the list gets and on this page.

The list

Join the list above with your email address, and you get one email when Pro launches, nothing else: no newsletter, no follow-ups. Recolor keeps the address, the date you joined and the ref tag of the link that brought you (the app's Export panel has its own), in its database on Cloudflare in the EU, and nowhere else. To be removed, write to hello@recolor.page. Privacy and security lists everything Recolor keeps.

When Pro is not for you

If you choose colors for your own site and copy them into your code yourself, the free plan does all of it, and Pro adds nothing you need. Pro will not add team seats, a design tool plugin or more colors per palette: a palette stays at 2 to 10 colors, and its shades still come from your own tools.

Common questions

Will Recolor stay free?

Yes. Everything it does today stays free with no account: the live repaint, every export, share pages and saved palettes in your browser.

Can I buy Pro now?

No. Pro is not on sale yet. Join the list for one email when it launches.

Is there a free trial of Pro?

No. The free plan is the trial: it has the live repaint and every export, so you can judge Recolor on your own site before paying for anything.

Is there a founding or early-bird price?

No. Pro will have one monthly and one yearly price, the same for everyone, with no discount for joining the list early.

Does joining the list sign me up for a newsletter?

No. You get one email, when Pro launches, and nothing else. Write to hello@recolor.page to be removed before that.

Do share pages need Pro?

No. Share pages are free, as every export is. Pro adds review links: a share page with a note, a password and an end date.
